Who we are
This site is run by Mat Black Web Design ("MBWD", "we", "us"). We're the data controller for any personal data you share with us through this website. You can reach us at info@mbwd.net or +44 (0)7590 532 170.

What we collect
When you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, phone number (if you give one), business name (if you give one), and the message you send. We also collect anonymous usage data through analytics — see the cookie policy.
Why we collect it, and the legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry — the contact form details. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch, and taking steps to enter into a contract.
- To understand how the site is used — analytics data, only with your consent. Legal basis: consent (which you can withdraw at any time).
How it's stored and who can see it
Contact-form messages are emailed to us and kept in our email account. We use the following processors: our email/hosting provider (to deliver and store the message) and Google Analytics (for anonymous usage statistics, only after you consent). We also use Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that collects anonymous, cookieless usage statistics on our own infrastructure. We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for up to 24 months after our last contact, then delete them. Analytics data is retained according to Google's settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email info@mbwd.net and we'll respond within a month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
